No.107 Walmer Castle

This is painting No.107 entitled, "Walmer Castle near Dark" painted about 10 days ago, whilst i sat in my freezing painting room listening to more Doctor Who audio Cds.This castle in Kent,England is only a couple of miles from my house and i was a regular visitor on sticky summer school trips.

This is painting No.106 entitled, "Dusk at Leicester Cathedral" which i began painting last night,after eating a delicious pasta dish which my wife prepared for me.I then watched some episodes of Series 3 of the american Superhero series, "Heroes" starring Ali Larter and Jack Coleman.I watched episodes which ended with the one called "Villains".Today, i ventured up to my painting room and completed it whilst listening to part 1 of a Doctor Who audio cd called "Feast of the Drowned".

No.105 Wormwood Scrubs

This is painting No.105 entitled, "Dusk at Wormwood Scrubs" which i painted this afternoon.This is of course the prison in London,England which has housed a vast array of unsavoury characters throughout time, and more recently,Pete Doherty, former member of the band The Libertines.I went around the town and purchased some white tights for my son's christmas school play, and some more canvases.I ventured home and had a cup of PG Tips and went up to my painting room and painted this whilst listening to Parts 1 & 2 of the Doctor Who audio cds of the episode called "The Stone Rose".

No.104 Oxford Natural History Museum

This is painting No.104 entitled, "Oxford Natural History Museum" which i began painting last night whilst listening to Rage Against The Machine's self titled album.I then had some Carlsberg beers and watched an episode of Doctor Who called, "The Shakespeare Code".Then today after taking my son to school i had a glass of tomato juice and toast and went up to my painting room and finished it whilst listening to Hank Williams.This was sold on ebay to Cambridge,Cambridgeshire.

No.103 Souter Lighthouse

This is painting No.103 entitled, "Sunset at Souter Lighthouse" painted in December 2009.I got changed into my painting clothes (Superhero pyjama bottoms and an old blue jumper) and after eating my way through the roast dinner my wife had cooked for me, i ventured up to my painting room with the rain pouring down the windows outside and painted this whilst listening to albums "Iowa" by Slipknot and Alice in Chains performing their 1996 MTV Unplugged Performance.Rock music really releases the manic Van Gogh in me.

This is painting No.96 entitled, "Dusk at Area 51" painted in November 2009.This is of course the highly clandestine Military base situated in the Nevada desert in the USA, i felt it deserved a brooding cloak of aerial sky.This was sold on ebay to London,England.

This is painting No.93 entitled, "Sunrise at Dealey Plaza" which i did last month in November 2009.This of course is the infamous "Elm Street" upon which President John F.Kennedy was assassinated on whilst in his limousine on Friday November 22,1963.I tried to capture how beautiful the sunrise on that day in that place probably looked, with everyone oblivious to how horrifying it would turn out to be there.This was sold on ebay to London,England.

This is painting No.58 entitled, "The Eiffel Tower in Fiery Sky" painted in June 2009.I like the sense of distance i achieved with this piece which sometimes can be tricky to perfect if you want the painting to have that feeling of majesty.For me this painting conjures up visions of the tragic death of Franz Reichelt who leapt to his demise from the tower in 1912 wearing what he believed was a coat that would also act as a parachute.This was sold on ebay to Devon,England.
